Role Description
Bryant & Stratton College Online Education is seeking Part-Time Instructors for our Career Development Courses. Qualified candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a field appropriate to Bryant and Stratton curriculum. Online teaching experience is preferred.
To be considered for a Part-Time Faculty position, applicants are required to submit the following items with the application:

Position Status: Exempt
Reports To: Program Manager/Faculty Administrator
Location: Remote (Orchard Park, NY)
Position Summary:
- Support the college mission by facilitating an active virtual learning classroom through alternative delivery methodologies.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge and skills in their discipline to support expected classroom responsibilities.
- Participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to support the needs of the student population and Online Education team.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a field appropriate to Bryant and Stratton curriculum.
- Online teaching experience preferred.
Requirements
- Prepare course(s) assigned in Blackboard with required elements by designated deadline.
- Prepare Beginning of Term documents for each assigned course ensuring accuracy and quality each session.
- Review course(s) assigned in Blackboard prior to each session start to verify content aligns with Introductory Documents.
- Provide approximately 12-15 hours per week of instruction over the course of five days each week, per course.
- Facilitate discussion with substantive, high-quality posts and higher-order questioning.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply Chickering's Seven Principles for Good Practice in Undergraduate Education.
- Host one Virtual Office Hour per week for every assigned course section.
- Ensure gradebook is updated each week, adhering to grading rubrics and providing detailed feedback.
- Utilize Blackboard Analytics to monitor students at risk each week.
- Utilize active learning strategies, authentic assessments, and APA guidelines.
- Maintain a current knowledge of teaching disciplines/fields of study and best practices in distance education.
- Respond to student and staff inquiries within a 24-48-hour period.
- Participate in all live and asynchronous faculty meetings.
- Participate in campus-wide initiatives in support of recruitment, retention, and graduation goals.
- Maintain a current teaching portfolio per the required categories of B&SC.
- Complete all required components of the online faculty lifecycle.
- Adhere to and uphold all established operational policies and procedures.
Benefits
- Salary Range: $1700 - $2000 per course.
- Compensation decisions are based on multiple factors including degree level, professional licenses, certifications, and organizational requirements.
