We are looking for a Localization Producer (1-year contract) to support the continued development and live operations of Guild Wars 2. In this role, you will help bring the world of Tyria to players around the globe by coordinating the localization of in-game text, audio, and supporting content across multiple languages. You will work closely with development teams and external localization partners to ensure content is delivered accurately, on time, and with the quality our global community expects. This role requires project management skills, cross-team collaboration, and an understanding of localization workflows within a game development environment.
- Plan and manage localization schedules, budgets, and resource needs and milestone tracking.
- Partner with cross-disciplinary teams including Engineering, Design, Art, QA, Narrative, Cinematics, and Audio to ensure localization is integrated smoothly into the development pipeline.
- Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality localized text, audio, and in-game content on schedule.
- Track dependencies across teams and ensure localization work aligns with overall development timelines and milestones.
- Monitor scope changes and evaluate their impact on localization schedules, resources, and budgets.
- Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep localization production on track.
- Provide regular updates on localization progress, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.
- Improve and refine localization workflows to increase efficiency, collaboration, and content quality.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with external localization vendors and partners. Provide feedback and set guidelines on localization direction to ensure on-time deliveries of all assets with highest quality standards.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of localized content using industry-standard tools, workflows, and validation practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- At least 2 years of experience managing localization projects within game development, 3+ years preferred.
- Experience working in game production environments, with AAA development experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end localization lifecycle for digital products, including planning, translation, QA, and delivery.
- Experience managing localization workflows, including subtitling and localized voice-over production.
- Familiarity with localization tools and methodologies, such as MemoQ or similar translation management platforms.
- Experience with Agile development practices and experience using project tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar workflow management systems.
- Proven project management and organizational skills, including the ability to create schedules, track milestones, manage competing priorities, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Fluency in French, German, or Spanish is a plus.
Benefits
- This contract position is paid hourly, with additional overtime compensation when applicable.
