Role Description

The System Manager, National Internal Traveler Program manages and leads the National Internal Travelers within CommonSpirit Health (CSH). This position provides clinical and operational management to support current and future CSH internal travelers; using strong financial and strategic judgment while embodying the values of CSH.

  • Responsible for effectively leading and managing the internal travel team across the ministry.
  • Implementation and day-to-day management of the national internal travel program in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of CommonSpirit Health.
  • Collaborates with local and national leaders to optimize internal labor utilization.
  • Creates and drives clinical excellence across all regions, markets, and clinical departments.
  • Ensures national travelers maintain and achieve high standards of care as evidenced by operational outcomes aligned with financial, clinical, and workforce goals.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance to federal and state rules and regulations; compliance to Accreditation body standards and CommonSpirit Health policies and procedures.
  • Works closely and in collaboration with frontline staff, leaders, and executive management to ensure a seamless and high performing approach to staffing and patient care.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of professional competence and autonomy in performing the roles of clinician, educator, consultant/collaborator, and leader.

Qualifications

  • RN required, Bachelor’s in Nursing degree required.
  • Masters degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of recent experience as a licensed nurse.
  • Minimum 5 years of management/leadership experience.

Requirements

  • Current license Registered Nurse.
  • Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) or multi-state licensure.
  • Knowledge and ability to facilitate supplemental staffing practices across multiple sites.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and regulation.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining behavior and performance expectations.
