Role Description

World Travel Holdings is seeking an experienced IT Product Owner to join our Business-to-Business (B2B) Division supporting Dream Vacations and CruiseOne. This role operates within a hybrid delivery environment, partnering closely with the Product Manager to execute the product roadmap and deliver digital applications across our cruise, land, resort, and broader leisure portfolio.

  • Responsible for owning and refining the product backlog.
  • Translates business needs into clear, actionable user stories.
  • Ensures Scrum teams deliver high-quality solutions that enhance the customer experience.
  • Aligns stakeholders, clarifies priorities, and ensures delivered solutions are valuable, usable, and technically sound.
  • Accountable for day-to-day execution and delivery of roadmap initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role supporting complex digital or technical products; travel or hospitality experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, SDLC, and tools such as Jira, Scrumwise, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of web technologies, APIs, and data flows; experience with booking or reservations systems is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training and business events.

  • Support product and project initiatives by identifying and analyzing business needs.
  • Contribute to effort estimates, define scope and objectives, and collaborate closely with business users.
  • Own, maintain, refine, and prioritize the product backlog for assigned domains in alignment with product vision and business strategy.
  • Partner with Business Analysts and Scrum team members to create clear user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers to ensure backlog items align with strategic objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Participate in and support Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Partner with UX, Engineering, QA, and Training teams to ensure releases are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
  • Work with the Training team to identify and support training requirements for system releases, including “train-the-trainer” needs and supporting materials.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations, and technology partners to understand requirements and translate them into actionable work items.
  • Clarify scope, manage dependencies, and balance trade-offs between time, scope, and quality.
  • Produce and maintain supporting artifacts as needed, including process diagrams, functional descriptions, and interaction notes.
  • Build deep knowledge of travel booking workflows, including but not limited to prospecting, search, fare rules, booking, passengers, itineraries, cancellations, and refunds.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the technical ecosystem, including front-end experiences, back-end services, core APIs, and integrations with third-party travel systems.
  • Partner with Engineering and QA to ensure backlog items appropriately address scalability, security, performance, and usability considerations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned products and domains.
