Job Description

Manager, Global Payroll
At Rapid7, building meaningful customer partnerships isn't just something we say, it's how we operate. Our Global Payroll function has recently undergone a significant transformation, resulting in stabilized processes, increased automation, and improved service delivery. With a strong operational foundation in place, we are focused on consistently delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll at scale.
About the Team
This dynamic team will consist of nine members who are focused on the following: ensuring the company's Global payrolls are processed accurately, compliantly and per the established payroll calendars. Our goal is to create a multidimensional team that can think of the big picture with a continuous process improvement mindset.
About the Role
We are seeking a Manager, Global Payroll, to lead a high-performing team responsible for approximately 20 payroll cycles per month across 17 global entities. This role is ideal for an experienced payroll leader with deep U.S. payroll and tax expertise who thrives in execution, team leadership, and continuous operational improvement. Global payroll experience is a plus, but success in this role will be driven by strong fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively run an established payroll operation.
As a Global Payroll Manager you will partner closely with Finance, People Strategy, Legal, and external vendors to ensure payroll processes are executed accurately, compliantly, and with a strong customer-service mindset. Specifically, your focus will be to:
  • Own end-to-end global payroll execution with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
  • Oversee and manage payroll operations across multiple entities and pay frequencies
  • Lead, coach, and develop a geographically distributed payroll team.
  • Serve as the payroll subject matter expert and primary cross-functional point of contact
  • Resolve complex payroll and payroll tax issues through hands-on analysis and clear execution
  • Ensure consistent adherence to established processes, controls, and SLAs
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee payroll system functionality and enhancements
  • Maintain a hands-on leadership approach, actively involved in payroll review and issue resolution

The skills and qualities you'll bring include:
  • 8-10 years of progressive payroll experience, with deep expertise in US multi-state payroll and payroll tax; global payroll experience is a strong plus
  • Proven people leadership experience in a fast-paced, operationally complex environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to payroll execution
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple payroll deadlines simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience partnering cross-functionally to support payroll delivery
  • Workday and ADP WFN experience preferred
  • Equity compensation experience is a plus

We know that the best ideas and solutions come from multi-dimensional teams. That's because these teams reflect a variety of backgrounds and professional experiences. If you are excited about this role and feel your experience can make an impact, please don't be shy - apply today.
