The primary purpose of this position is to lead and support Center Store operational execution across all districts within an assigned region. This role provides operational direction, coaching, and field support to drive consistent execution in Center Store departments—including merchandising standards, receiving and backroom standards, audit performance, inventory processes, and reclaim/IRC compliance. The incumbent serves as a key liaison between the Store Support Center (SSC) Merchandising department and Field Operations, ensuring priorities are communicated clearly, aligned to operational expectations, and executed consistently in stores. They also support the execution of Regional Operations priorities, ensuring Center Store initiatives align with the direction of the Regional Vice President (RVP), Regional Operations Specialist, and District Managers. The incumbent is required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.
This position has multi-unit responsibility. The final position placement location will be determined based on the selected candidate's residence location. There are multiple positions (one position per Region) for this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Support consistent execution of Center Store operational priorities across all districts within the assigned region, aligned to regional expectations and operational direction established by the RVP and regional operations leadership.
- Partner with District Managers and district-level Center Store Leads to reinforce standards, expectations, and accountability for Center Store execution in stores.
- Provide coaching and field support to improve Center Store execution including merchandising standards, store conditions, receiving compliance, backroom organization, reclaim/IRC process adherence, and audit readiness.
- Support execution of major Center Store changeovers across multiple districts (seasonal transitions, large resets, inventory events, and program rollouts).
- Evaluate Center Store performance with a focus on sales growth, profit/margin performance, labor effectiveness, and shrink performance; identify opportunities, gaps, and corrective actions by district/store.
- Partner with operations leadership to drive improvements that enhance financial performance, including labor productivity, reclaim/IRC standards, receiving accuracy, and execution that supports profitable sales.
- Use operational and financial reporting to guide performance conversations and improvement plans; confirm follow-through and measurable progress.
- Serve as the regional liaison between SSC Merchandising and Field Operations to ensure consistent communication, alignment, and execution of merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal initiatives, and vendor standards.
- Translate merchandising priorities into clear execution expectations for district Leads with emphasis on operational feasibility, store readiness, and consistent store-level standards.
- Collect and consolidate store and district feedback, identify recurring barriers and opportunities, and communicate insights and recommendations to SSC partners and operations leadership.
- Reinforce consistent communication cadence and alignment between operations and merchandising partners to prevent overlap, confusion, or inconsistent expectations.
- Partner with Regional Operations leadership and district Leads to strengthen Store Operations Review (SOR) performance related to Center Store, receiving, and backroom areas, including compliance regarding all internal and external audit processes (e.g., food safety and operational audits).
- Reinforce and support Center Store inventory processes through preparation support, execution standards, and post-inventory review to improve inventory accuracy and accountability.
- Promote excellence in receiving and backroom processes by reinforcing standards for DSD execution, delivery documentation, product handling, organization, shrink control, and compliance practices.
- Support reclaim and IRC standards by reinforcing processes, reviewing reporting, identifying root causes of unnecessary product loss, and partnering on corrective action plans.
- Partner cross-functionally with CGO, Asset Protection, Food Safety, Customer Experience, Operational Efficiency, and other SSC support partners as needed to reinforce execution standards.
- Support new store openings, remodels, and strategic initiatives that involve Center Store readiness, merchandising setup, and operational execution.
- Lead or participate in special projects related to Center Store performance, operational improvements, and strategic regional priorities as assigned.
- Demonstrate and reinforce customer-first behaviors and service expectations by modeling strong customer experience standards, coaching store teams on service behaviors, and ensuring operational execution supports an excellent customer experience.
- Conduct routine competition checks to evaluate competitor execution, pricing and promotional activity, merchandising standards, and customer service practices. Share insights with operations leadership and partners to inform priorities and strengthen execution.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility but is responsible for training, mentoring, and influencing district-level Center Store Leads, store leadership, and store associates across the region. The role supports accountability through coaching, standard follow-up, and partnership with the Regional Operations Specialist and District Managers.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Business, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in retail operations, Center Store leadership, merchandising execution, inventory management, or store leadership roles required. Experience supporting multiple locations, field execution routines, and performance coaching preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of Center Store operations including merchandising standards, planogram execution, DSD/receiving standards, inventory processes, reclaim/IRC compliance, and backroom organization. Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority through strong partnerships, structured communication, and standards follow-up. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze financial and operational data to drive improvement. Proficiency with the Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Rate of Pay: $100,000.00 -$130,000.00
