Role Description
The Program Manager, Strategic Execution & Governance will drive key strategic programs that shape the future of H&R Block’s operations and enterprise transformation efforts. Reporting to the Director, Strategy Execution & Governance (Operations & Technology), this role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong program management skills and a commitment to delivering impactful results. The Program Manager will oversee high-impact and high-visibility enterprise initiatives, ensuring these programs are executed successfully and aligned to Block Next strategy. This role will provide execution discipline, strengthen accountability, and enable consistent delivery of value across all managed programs.

- Program Management: Manage multiple programs simultaneously, often long-term in nature, spanning multiple business cycles, to ensure timely delivery, adherence to scope, and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Strategic Project Execution: Lead the execution of cross-functional strategic initiatives, ensuring these projects are delivered on time and drive the intended business outcomes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams across the enterprise to gather requirements, share insights, and orchestrate unified implementation of strategic initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational effectiveness, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in program execution.
- Governance & Reporting: Establish strong governance routines for each program, including setting key performance indicators (KPIs) and regular status reviews. Develop comprehensive reports and documentation to track progress, outcomes, and lessons learned for leadership visibility.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: Engage with internal stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment and support for initiatives. Influence and persuade cross-functional partners and senior leaders to adopt and champion program objectives, maintaining alignment with organizational goals.
- Change Management: Partner with leadership to facilitate change management efforts (communication, training, and support) for teams involved in new initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and systems.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks or roadblocks associated with strategic projects to ensure smooth implementation and delivery of results.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- 8+ years of relevant work experience, including program/project management leading large programs that involve significant business change, and organizational impact.

- Communication Skills: Advanced oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong presentation and facilitation abilities to effectively communicate with – and persuade – a wide range of audiences, from project teams to senior executives.
- Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead and influence without direct authority in a matrixed or highly cross-functional environment. Experience guiding teams and stakeholders through change and gaining buy-in on new initiatives.
- Analytical & Critical Thinking: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. A continuous improvement mindset with a collaborative approach to finding solutions and driving improvements. Extreme attention to detail in planning, execution, and follow-up.

Pay Range
The pay range for this position is $101,200.00 - $161,900.00/Yr. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.
