Job Description

RPG partners with hospitals to design, launch, and sustain programs that improve patient outcomes, provider satisfaction, and operational efficiency in rural communities.


RPG’s mission is, “Bringing rural hospitals and providers together to enhance the care of their community.” We are currently seeking a full time Regional Program Director to help us with this mission. 

 

This is a travel-heavy position (about 50%). Candidates should be comfortable spending significant time on the road.

 

Position Summary

The Regional Program Director (RPD) will serve 15-20 locations located in our core states.  Success will require travel up to 50% of the time (depending on the situation) including on-site visits for 1-2 days in duration several times a month, and occasional working time outside of standard business hours.

 

The position works under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, works in a dyad model along with the Regional Medicator Director(s), works directly with Chief Hospitalists/Physician Leaders and Senior Executives in the execution of responsibilities. Hospital and Clinical Experience is preferred.

 

This is a terrific advancement role for a relationship and results-driven leader who wants to be the point person for solving and preventing problems and developing deep relationships.  The ideal candidate is friendly, attentive, conscientious, responsive, exhibits advanced critical thinking and organizational skills and is excellent in partnering to create solutions.   

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop rapport through frequent (minimum monthly) check-in phone calls with 100% of partner hospitals
  • Schedule, prepare for, and lead onsite annual executive reviews for 100% of partner hospitals
  • Create prioritized action plans for 100% of issues for partner hospitals; make assignments, deadlines and follow up with responsible teammates 
  • Achieve Net Promoter Score (NPS) (“How likely are you to recommend Rural Physicians Group) 80% response rate and achieve CEO NPS of 8/10 or higher 
  • Provide facility onboarding detail to ensure new providers are aware of facility critical success factors and key pressure points
  • Engage RPG Regional Medical Director and local Chief Hospitalists in problem solving
  • Lead Regional program overview meetings, presenting the health status of each program to Executive Leadership Team on a monthly cadence
  • Lead internal meetings across multiple departments (Regional Workshops) on a bi-weekly cadence (every two weeks)
  • Assist Provider Operations Coordinator team with ensuring 24/7 coverage and engaging facility leadership as needed
  • Lead and manage new program launches, including on-site visits and virtual meetings with internal departments and hospital administrators
  • Identify facility workflows and opportunities for improvement
  • Identify opportunities for additional RPG service lines in current partner facilities
  • Maintain accurate and current customer data in database
  • Work with the Chief Medical Officer on any ad hoc administrative duties
  • Mentor and work collaboratively with other RPD team members for the betterment of the group
  • Help train new RPD team members to be successful in their new roles
  • Project management of various projects that drive value to the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree – healthcare related is preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience with RPG or 10+ years’ experience in Sr. level management
  • 5+ years’ experience in a healthcare setting – CAH is a plus
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Friendly, attentive, and responsive
  • Effective management skills with multiple projects
