Role Description

Iron Bow Technologies is seeking a Configuration Management Engineer to perform within a team of configuration and presales engineers responsible for creating accurate, competitive, and scalable Bill of Materials (BOMs) across our top OEM partners. CME Pre-Sales Engineers are responsible for providing technical product expertise and support to our sales team and customers. You will play a key role in understanding customer requirements, designing solutions, and delivering product recommendations. This role is critical to ensuring pricing optimization, configuration accuracy, and alignment with Iron Bow’s operational standards while enabling our account teams the opportunity to win complex opportunities.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will monitor quote requests within the Iron Bow ServiceNow System.
  • You will manage and support Bill of Material (BOM) request tickets within ServiceNow from start to finish.
  • You will utilize Iron Bow existing OEM partner tools to deliver accurate pricing to the Iron Bow requested sales or engineering source.
  • You will ensure BOMs align with customer requirements, technical architecture, and Iron Bow standards.
  • You will provide informed insights of new design builds for Clients.
  • You will leverage OEM promotions, incentives, bundles, and programs to maximize pricing competitiveness and margin.
  • You will work with Partner Alliances to assist in required OEM training and certifications needed for the team or the company.
  • You will maintain the necessary certifications and technical readiness across our supported OEMs.
  • You will collaborate with Iron Bow’s OEM Partner account managers and channel sales engineers to understand their initiatives and promotional programs.
  • You will be a trusted advisor to account teams on configuration alternatives and OEM tradeoffs.
  • You will create and validate alternative BOMs across different OEMs to provide customers with flexible solution options.
  • You will ensure all work aligns with Iron Bow policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with technical and pre-sales engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of multiple OEM hardware, software, and services configurations.
  • Experience creating and reviewing complex Bills of Materials.
  • Background in solution design or device configuration management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Experience supporting Federal, SLED, or Commercial Enterprise customers.
  • Prior exposure to multiple OEM ecosystems (compute, networking, storage, security, cloud).
  • Extensive experience with Dell, HP and Cisco configuration Tools.

  • Experience working for a Systems Integrator, VAR, or government contractor.
  • Strong technical and consultative skills.
  • Relevant experience in key competitor technology offerings to drive business outcomes.
  • OEM Certification such as: HPE Professional, Cisco Certified Specialist or Dell Sales Portfolio certifications are a plus.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 10% travel.
