The Senior HR Generalist will manage complex employee and manager inquiries, administer recurring HR cycles, and ensure compliance with multi-state employment regulations. The position emphasizes precision, adaptability, and thoughtful application of HR policies, while contributing to process improvements and the codification of best practices. The role requires proficiency in HRIS systems, especially Dayforce, and the ability to balance employee experience with policy adherence. You will collaborate with a distributed team to deliver high-quality, compliant HR solutions and drive operational excellence. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S. while supporting Eastern Time Zone clients.
- Serve as a key operational resource for HR inquiries, interpreting policies, troubleshooting HRIS issues, and guiding managers and employees through complex HR scenarios.
- Manage leave of absence processes, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance, and communication with stakeholders.
- Support recurring HR cycles, including performance reviews and compensation planning, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Analyze HR data and generate reports from Dayforce to identify trends, system inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Contribute to the development of standardized communications, templates, and knowledge resources to improve efficiency and consistency of HR support.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure compliance with multi-state employment laws and organizational policies, escalating risks as appropriate.
- Provide thoughtful guidance that balances equity, policy compliance, and employee experience across multiple client contexts.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience covering employee relations, leave management, compliance, performance management, and HR systems.
- Experience supporting organizations with 800+ employees or multiple clients in multi-state environments.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and multi-state compliance.
- Expertise in HRIS systems, with Dayforce experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex HR policies clearly and empathetically.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage high-volume, multi-stakeholder workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate multiple client handbooks, policies, and procedures simultaneously.
- Experience in nonprofit, social impact, or matrixed organizations is a plus.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining close collaboration with a distributed team.
