Role Description
This role is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and detail-oriented writer to contribute to high-impact government capture and proposal initiatives. As a Capture Proposal Writer, you will translate complex technical ideas into clear, persuasive narratives that help secure government contracts, grants, and research opportunities. Working closely with cross-functional teams—including sales, product, engineering, and government relations—you will craft compelling value propositions that address customer needs and evaluation criteria. The position requires both strategic thinking and strong writing expertise to influence stakeholders and improve the probability of winning competitive bids. In addition, you will help build scalable content frameworks and repositories that support future proposals and leverage emerging tools such as AI to enhance content development.
- Develop and write high-quality proposal content that translates technical concepts into clear, persuasive solutions aligned with customer needs.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, product teams, and sales leaders to gather information and shape compelling narratives for government proposals.
- Author and contribute to white papers, position papers, thought leadership materials, unsolicited proposals, and strategic shaping documents.
- Create differentiating messaging and value propositions that strengthen competitive RFP responses and proactive proposals.
- Translate complex technologies into business value and mission-focused outcomes understandable to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Establish and maintain scalable content processes, templates, and repositories to improve proposal efficiency and consistency.
- Support and coach internal contributors to strengthen proposal writing quality and alignment with evaluation criteria.
- Evaluate and implement tools or technologies, including AI-driven solutions, to improve the quality, speed, and scalability of proposal development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, technical writing, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in technical writing, proposal development, strategic content creation, or related roles.
- Proven ability to develop persuasive value propositions and translate complex technical concepts into accessible messaging.
- Experience writing proposals or supporting capture efforts related to government contracts, grants, or research initiatives.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across technical, product, and business teams.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a focus on clarity, persuasion, and strategic impact.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Familiarity with federal procurement processes, contracting vehicles, or regulations such as FAR/DFARS is a plus.
- Experience implementing content frameworks, knowledge repositories, or AI-enabled writing tools is highly valued.
