Department: Product

Duration of Contract: March 2 – September 2, 2026

Compensation: $100-$110 per hour

Position Summary
We are seeking a mid-level Full Stack Engineer for a six-month independent contractor engagement to help build and evolve a Nuxt.js application, stand up a Strapi CMS, and integrate the two into a cohesive, production-ready system. This role will own day-to-day development across the stack, from front-end features to CMS configuration and API integration.

Success in this contract looks like proactively driving implementation decisions, shipping high-quality features with minimal oversight, and helping establish solid technical foundations during an early-phase project. This independent contractor opportunity is ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently, enjoys ambiguity, and takes pride in turning rough requirements into thoughtful, scalable solutions.

This role requires strong full-stack fundamentals, the ability to work solo while collaborating with Distribution, Product, Design, and Engineering partners, and comfort operating in a fast-moving environment.

This role will also require the use of the contractor’s own equipment, tools, and software. The contractor will also be responsible for maintaining general liability insurance and is not eligible for benefits through the Come and See Foundation.

Key Details

  • 3–6 years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer working on modern web applications
  • Strong experience with JavaScriptand modern frameworks, with hands-on experience in js (Vue) or similar frameworks
  • Experience working with Strapi or similar headless CMS, including content modeling, permissions, and API usage
  • Experience integrating front-end applications with headless CMS platforms via REST or GraphQL APIs
  • Solid understanding of front-end fundamentals, including component architecture, state management, and responsive design
  • Working knowledge of back-end concepts such as authentication, authorization, data modeling, and API design
  • Ability to work independently, make pragmatic technical decisions, and manage priorities without heavy oversight
  • Comfort working in early-stage projects where requirements may evolve and systems are still being defined
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and collaborating through pull requests and code reviews
  • Experience working with Jira (or similar tools) to track tasks and work in flight
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, and progress to non-engineering stakeholders
  • Availability to participate in project meetings and overlap with a standard 8a–5p CST workday
  • Bonus: experience with deployment pipelines, cloud hosting, or performance optimization
