Job Summary
Courtyard.io is looking for an Accounting Manager to become the second hire in our accounting function and help build a world class finance organization from the ground up.
This is a unique opportunity to join one of the fastest growing companies in the collectibles space and help architect the financial infrastructure that will support the next stage of our growth. You will work directly with finance leadership to design scalable processes, implement automation, and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting as we expand.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, building systems that scale, and partnering across teams to help a high growth company move quickly while maintaining strong financial discipline. This role is both strategic and hands on and is ideal for someone excited to build something lasting.
What You’ll Do
- Help design and scale Courtyard’s accounting function as the company grows
- Own core accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Support and drive the monthly close process and ensure timely and accurate financial statements
- Manage key accounting areas such as inventory accounting, marketplace transactions, and subscription based revenue recognition
- Partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to support new initiatives and ensure appropriate accounting treatment
- Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve accounting processes using modern tools and AI
- Help implement scalable systems, internal controls, and accounting policies as the business evolves
- Assist with audits, external reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Document accounting policies and procedures to support operational excellence and scalability
- Contribute to strategic projects such as system implementations, process redesign, and financial infrastructure improvements
- Support FP&A initiatives through financial analysis and operational insights
- Help build and mentor the future accounting team as Courtyard continues to grow
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting, a high growth startup, or a combination of both
- CPA preferred, but open to non CPA
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting best practices
- Experience with inventory accounting, marketplace businesses, or subscription based revenue models is a strong plus
- Proven ability to improve and scale accounting processes in a growing organization
- Experience with accounting systems implementations or system migrations preferred
- Familiarity with internal controls frameworks and audit readiness (SOX experience is a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, high ownership environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
- Interest in automation, data tools, and AI driven accounting workflows
- Builder mindset with a passion for creating efficient and scalable financial infrastructure
