The Remote Exercise Physiologist supports patients in a cardiac rehabilitation program by providing exercise programming, tracking progress, and offering education on heart-healthy lifestyles, often working with older adults via telehealth. This role involves performing comprehensive health assessments, adjusting rehabilitation plans, leading group exercise sessions, and providing behavioral coaching and counseling.

The therapist provides pulmonary rehabilitation and therapeutic programming, focusing on patient goal setting, progression tracking, and education on healthy lifestyles to support recovery. This role involves performing comprehensive patient assessments, monitoring progress, administering specific respiratory treatments, and developing individualized exercise prescriptions.

The specialist will serve as the primary contact for at-risk patients, building rapport through proactive outreach via phone, text, and email to encourage continued participation in the virtual cardiac rehabilitation program. This role also involves implementing retention strategies, addressing patient barriers, and escalating clinical issues when necessary.
