Job Description
Role Description
We're hiring a Senior Accountant to stabilize, standardize, and scale our accounting foundation. This role sits at the center of an evolving finance function. You will own general ledger integrity, lead month-end close execution, maintain reconciliations, and help design and implement improved systems, workflows, and controls as the company matures.
This is not a maintenance role. It is a build-and-improve role.
You'll thrive here if you:
- Enjoy building structure in evolving environments
- Take pride in transforming complexity into clarity
- Fix inefficient workflows instead of working around them
- Operate confidently with incomplete documentation and improve it
- Take ownership beyond task execution
- Balance detail orientation with big-picture financial impact
This role is intentionally designed as a transition role. In the near term, you will partner closely with the Head of Finance to stabilize systems and improve processes. Over time, you will assume primary ownership of recurring accounting execution, enabling leadership to focus on strategic and forward-looking initiatives. There is potential for progression into an Accounting Manager role as the function scales.
Responsibilities:
-
Execution & Accuracy
- Own month-end close execution with predictable timelines and minimal rework
- Maintain full reconciliation of balance sheet, revenue, and cash accounts
- Ensure financial data is reliable and decision-ready
- Transition ≥80% of recurring close tasks from Head of Finance within the first 90 days
-
Systems & Process Ownership
- Document, standardize, and improve core accounting workflows
- Own preparation and ongoing improvement of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Stabilize and monitor accounting system integrations and data flows
- Design and implement scalable accounting SOPs
-
Operational Accounting Oversight
- Manage operational accounting outputs (AP, AR, payroll, commissions)
- Support audit readiness and tax preparation
- Collaborate with Finance Ops to align operational workflows with accounting requirements
-
Upcoming Initiatives
- Integration of new AR billing system and workflow
- Implementation of expense management system
- Payroll system migration
- Development of chargeback prevention & resolution SOP
- Transition to accrual GAAP accounting
Qualifications
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong ownership of month-end close and reconciliations
- Experience in a growth-stage or scaling environment
- Demonstrated ability to improve and document processes
- Strong Excel proficiency
- Experience with QuickBooks and system integrations
- Comfort operating in environments that are still being built
- A mindset of extreme ownership and follow-through
- Ability to communicate clearly with leadership and accept iterative feedback
Benefits
- Full-time, 1099 position
- Work Remotely: We're a 100% remote company with team members across North America. Save thousands of hours (and dollars) on commuting.

- Annual All Expenses Paid Company Offsite: Our last few offsite locations include Costa Rica, Scottsdale, Orlando, and Nashville.
- $79,000-$108,000 USD annually DOE
