Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join Yubico's finance team. You will own a variety of complex general ledger, financial analysis, and reporting responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator with exceptional attention to detail and the high-level analytical skills required to manage critical and sensitive data. This position focuses on driving an efficient and accurate month-end close, interpreting and applying complex accounting policies, and leading process improvement initiatives to scale our financial operations in a fast-growing global environment.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation and high-level review of complex journal entries and global consolidations.
- Maintain and optimize the general ledger within NetSuite, ensuring sub-ledger integrity and managing automated workflows (e.g., fixed assets, amortizations, and bank feeds).
- Perform intricate bank and balance sheet reconciliations, proactively detecting, investigating, and resolving discrepancies in a multi-currency environment.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow). Provide variance analysis and insights to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
- Identify, design, and implement process improvements and internal controls to streamline transactional workflows and reduce the time-to-close.
- Act as a primary finance liaison for other departments; provide expert guidance on accounting policies and promptly address complex financial queries from managers and directors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
- Strong proficiency in NetSuite is required.
- Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets (e.g., nested formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling).
- Deep working knowledge of US GAAP and experience maintaining internal controls.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting financial data to staff, managers, and executive leadership.
- Experience with Confluence, Google Workspace, and integrated fintech tools (e.g., Expensify, Bill.com) preferred.
