Role Description
The Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting project operations for a large-scale, customer experience-focused IT modernization engagement. This role helps develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to support user adoption, process standardization, training, and knowledge management throughout the phased modernization effort.
- Assist in developing and implementing a multi-phase communication strategy aligned with project milestones, stakeholder needs, and organizational objectives.
- Coordinate messaging across internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with project goals.
- Collaborate with change management and training teams to support user adoption of new technologies and standardized workflows.
- Develop targeted communications to address resistance, build awareness, and foster buy-in for process changes.
- Create, edit, and distribute project-related communications, including newsletters, email updates, FAQs, presentations, and training materials.
- Update and maintain knowledge management resources to reflect changes in technical infrastructure and operational processes.
- Work with training teams to communicate the availability and benefits of new training resources.
- Ensure that knowledge management platforms are updated and accessible to all users, supporting ongoing learning and process standardization.
- Track and report on communication effectiveness, user engagement, and adoption metrics.
- Adjust communication strategies based on feedback and performance data.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in communications, preferably in healthcare, technology, or government environments.
- 1+ years of prior work experience in or with the Federal Government.
- 1+ years of experience and aptitude for working and communicating with various diverse stakeholders, teams, and clients face-to-face.
- Strong storytelling, written/verbal communication, and executive-level presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement, change management, and knowledge management practices.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt and excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
- Must be a US Citizen with ability and willingness to acquire a U.S. Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale change initiatives or technology implementations.
- Experience in federal healthcare operations and clinical workflows.
- Familiarity with contact center operations and metrics.
