Job Description
Job Requirements
- Excellent program management, budget and workplan management, partnership management and donor engagement skills.
- Exceptional leadership, management and supervisory, analytical, and representational skills with the ability to build teams and work across a matrixed organization.
- Capacity to work successfully within a variety of cross-cultural settings and make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to research and interpret donor and award requirements, inform and advise senior leadership, negotiate and collaborate with donor and partner officials, and assess and mitigate compliance risks for successful project delivery.
- Strong Knowledge Management and Learning aptitude to strengthen internal systems, processes, and staff capacities for effective project management and optimal return on investment.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English required.
- Professional proficiency in at least one other language (Spanish, French, Portuguese or Arabic) highly desirable.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Excellent computer skills, including use of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), and experience using online management information systems (e.g. Salesforce) and/or collaboration platforms (e.g. SharePoint) is an added benefit.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field relevant to IYF’s mission and programs (Social Science, Economics, International Relations, Public Policy). Advanced degrees strongly preferred.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication skills.
- At least six years of experience developing, implementing, and managing multi-faceted, donor-funded projects.
- Knowledge of and experience with programs that support youth employment and social services (e.g. education) highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience managing compliance with the award rules and regulations of bilateral Overseas Development Assistance funders required.
- Similar award management experience with other major institutional donors desired.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of the youth sector and issues affecting young people – including relevant performance measurement standards.
- Deep personal commitment to social and economic development that recognizes youth as critical actors and beneficiaries.
