Job Description
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Health Information Management or other Healthcare setting.
- 3+ years of experience in Regulatory Operations.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding health information.
- Excellent computer and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
- Self-motivated and able to adapt to shifting priorities in support of clinical and business operations.
- Excellent verbal, written and active listening communication skills are required.
- Excellent critical thinking skills, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in one or more of the following computer systems: Epic electronic medical record system, Cerner, Meditech, or other third party electronic medical record system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Document Management systems preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of medical transcription guidelines (The AHDI Book of Style for Medical Transcription, 3rd edition) and practices.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, and the applicable medical specialties preferred.
- High school Diploma, required. Associates Degree, preferred. - Documentation Integrity (AHDI) strongly preferred. - Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Preferred. Certified Healthcare Documentation Specialist (CHDS) by the Association for Healthcare Preferred.
