Job Description

• Support diverse infrastructure projects for data center clients, including HVAC optimization, cooling system modernization, thermal management improvements, equipment end-of-life analysis, and capacity planning initiatives across multiple concurrent engagements. • Conduct engineering assessments and analyses to support mechanical system evaluations, including feasibility studies, equipment sizing, heating/cooling load calculations, energy modeling, and lifecycle cost analysis. • Provide technical expertise for mechanical system upgrades and retrofits, including equipment evaluation, system performance analysis and solution validation. • Apply working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical data center systems to troubleshoot infrastructure challenges and develop client-ready engineering recommendations and reports. • Communicate effectively with clients on project progress and technical considerations, demonstrating ability to explain complex engineering concepts to non-technical audiences. • Produce quality deliverables including technical reports, engineering documentation and equipment recommendations that reflect project scope of work. • Work closely with leadership and project managers to deliver projects on time and on budget while managing competing priorities. • Demonstrate agility in shifting between project types, client requirements, and technical challenges as business needs evolve. • Collaborate with industry partners and external vendors to manage supplemental project support and execution where internal capability gaps exist.

Job Requirements

  • 5-10 years of mechanical engineering experience (preferably in data centers or mission-critical facilities)
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical systems and data center infrastructure in addition to mechanical expertise
  • Proven ability to multitask across multiple projects and pivot quickly between different technical challenges
  • PE license preferred; additional certifications (DCCA, DCEP, ATD) highly valued
  • Demonstrated track record of mechanical system problem-solving in dynamic environments
  • Willingness to pursue professional development opportunities including relevant certifications (DCCA, DCEP, ASHRAE)
