• Generate a working design concept and costs for material handling systems based on AutoCAD layouts and equipment lists • Receive guidance from experienced Systems Engineers and managers • Perform majority of design work in brownfield environments, paying attention to product flow around existing conveyance and structures • Utilize the existing FORTNA costing toolset to generate mechanical equipment costs for new systems, modifications, and change orders • Collaborate with internal departments to estimate costs for electrical/controls engineering, electrical installation, project management, freight, permits, etc. • Evaluate customer RFQ documents and ensure costing includes customer requirements and specifications • Generate RFQ documentation for external material and labor suppliers • Generate proposal documentation in Microsoft Word and Excel formats • Lead customer design review meetings and executive level meetings to review project scope and costing with internal stakeholders and customers • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of customer specifications and various conveyor components such as conveyor drives, belting, sorters • Analyze system layouts and flow rates as required to ensure proper system operation
