• Collaborate closely with product, design, and marketing teams to define, architect, and build new features and enhancements for our platform, with a specific focus on best-in-class user experiences • Define platform architecture and strategy to scale while maintaining high performance • Maintain high code quality standards on the team with a focus on clean, maintainable, and scalable code • Oversee and guide the technical work of contractor engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and engineering standards • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and provide mentorship where appropriate • Help establish and refine engineering processes, tools, and workflows to improve team effectiveness and efficiency • Evaluate third-party solution options and contribute to build-vs-buy decisions • Act as the technical owner for key areas of the platform, monitoring platform analytics and performance and proactively identifying potential issues and areas for improvement • Stay current with emerging technologies, particularly with Shopify, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement
