Job Description

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective data architecture solutions using Snowflake and AWS • Lead the design and development of modern ELT/ETL pipelines using DBT and complementary tools • Define, implement, and enforce data governance standards using tools such as OneTrust, Monte Carlo or Alation • Partner cross-functionally with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, product managers, and security teams to translate needs into effective data solutions • Ensure all data systems are designed to meet privacy regulations and compliance standards (e.g., FERPA, SOC 2, GDPR) • Optimize cost and performance of cloud-based data workloads • Enforce full lifecycle development practices including testing, deployment, and maintenance • Mentor team members and lead architecture reviews, design sessions, and best practice initiatives

Job Requirements

8–10 years of progressive experience in data architecture, engineering, or data platform design
3-4 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake in a production environment
Proficiency in AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Redshift, IAM, Glue, and cloud-native security practices
Deep understanding of modern data architecture principles and best practices
Knowledge of data privacy regulations (FERPA, GDPR) and audit/compliance standards (SOC 2)
Ability to lead enterprise-scale architecture initiatives aligned with strategic business objectives
Experience estimating timelines and resource needs
Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools
