Role Description
CareDx is seeking a motivated and experienced Director of Medical Affairs Training and Development to support the growing needs of the Field Medical Affairs team. This role will report to the Head of Training & Development and collaborate closely with the VP, Field Medical Affairs to design, implement, and evaluate training programs that enhance the capabilities of our Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs). The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background, proven experience in training development and facilitation, and a passion for operational excellence in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:

New Hire Training:
- Partner with Medical Affairs Leadership on planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the 12 week onboarding program for new MSLs and other Medical Affairs team members.
- Co-facilitator for onboarding modules, scientific content, systems training, field coaching, and certification.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., legal, compliance, commercial, clinical) to integrate relevant content into onboarding.

Ongoing and Advanced Training:
- Design, develop and deliver Medical Affairs training plan, in collaboration with key stakeholders (e.g. Medical Directors, Medical Information & Content Development, MSL leadership) for each product and therapeutic area.
- Develop ongoing education initiatives (scientific updates, product refreshers, soft skills, systems/tools).
- Curate and maintain scientific content to ensure alignment with current literature, product data, and therapeutic landscape.
- Maintain scientific communication/publication plan.
- In collaboration with the Directors, MSLs, monitor MSL performance trends to identify learning needs and tailor training accordingly.

Meeting Planning & Facilitation:
- Contribute to the execution of team meetings (regional, national, NFM, etc.).
- Collaborate on meeting agendas, speaker coordination, training workshops, and post-meeting assessments.
- Facilitate interactive live and virtual training sessions during regional, national, NFM meetings.

Curriculum Development & Evaluation:
- Collaborate with LMS Admin team member to house and maintain curricula in CareDx University learning management system (ClearCo/Brainier platform).
- Conduct fluency assessments with MSLs and create feedback loops to evaluate training effectiveness and ensure knowledge retention.
- Leverage insights from the field, compliance metrics, and leadership feedback to inform content updates.
- Develop and monitor metrics and KPIs to assess effectiveness of educational activities.

Collaboration & Project Management:
- Work cross-functionally with Medical Directors, MSL Directors, Compliance, Commercial Training, and external vendors to ensure consistency and quality of training materials.
- Manage logistics and timelines for training initiatives; oversee vendor deliverables and contracts as needed.
- Implements and monitors use of the learning management system (LMS) by Medical Affairs team members to optimize training content, cadence, and quality.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the diagnostics industry and medical affairs field dynamics.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal communication, facilitation, coaching and leadership skills.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, LMS tools, and virtual collaboration platforms (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams), experience with LMS preferred (ClearCo/Brainier Platform).
- Ability to travel up to 30% for team meetings, onboarding, and field support.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, NP, PA, or relevant scientific degree) preferred.
- Experience in solid organ transplantation or immunology, preferred.
- 8+ years related or clinical experience with minimum 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, MSL, or medical training roles.
- Prior training and development experience required/highly preferred.
- Experience in managing high-performing teams.
- Strong business acumen, vision, and perspective.
