Role Description

National Debt Relief is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the Applied AI team. This role is equal parts product vision and execution management, you'll own the roadmap for the team's AI initiatives while also driving the day-to-day coordination, delivery, and stakeholder communication that keeps projects moving forward on time and on target.

The Applied AI team's portfolio will evolve as the company's needs and the technology landscape shift. You'll need to be someone who can manage what's in front of you today while keeping an eye on what's next. Current initiatives span:

  • Conversational AI (voice and chat)
  • Internal knowledge tooling

This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to senior leadership and a fast-moving product area.

Responsibilities

  • Product Ownership
    • Own the Applied AI team's product roadmap, balancing near-term delivery with longer-term strategic bets.
    • Identify and evaluate new AI opportunities that align with business goals, bringing forward recommendations on where the team should invest next.
    • Write clear product requirements, user stories, and success criteria.
    • Partner with engineering to evaluate build-vs-buy decisions and manage third-party vendor relationships.
    • Champion a data-informed approach to product decisions, defining KPIs and holding the team accountable to outcomes.
    • Stay current with trends in AI/ML, large language models, conversational AI, and adjacent technologies — and translate those trends into actionable product opportunities.
  • Project & Delivery Management
    • Manage day-to-day team progress across multiple concurrent workstreams, removing blockers and ensuring work stays on track.
    • Maintain project plans, timelines, and status documentation so that nothing falls through the cracks.
    • Run standups, sprint ceremonies, or whatever cadence keeps the team moving efficiently.
    • Report regularly to senior stakeholders on project status, key metrics, risks, and opportunities.
    • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies with engineering, design, operations, and other product teams.
    • Proactively flag risks and tradeoffs, and drive decisions when priorities compete.

Current Initiatives

  • Voice AI — Development and optimization of an AI-powered voice bot experience, with potential vendor partnerships (LiveKit, Sierra, or similar platforms).
  • Conversational Chat AI — Rollout of an AI chatbot across the homepage, landing pages, and key customer journeys.
  • Internal Knowledge Base Tooling — AI-powered tools that help internal teams access information faster and more accurately.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years focused on AI, ML, or conversational AI products.
  • Demonstrated experience shipping AI-powered products to production — not just prototypes.
  • Strong project management instincts — you naturally bring structure, accountability, and visibility to complex, multi-workstream efforts.
  • Comfort working with technical teams and enough fluency to engage meaningfully on architecture, model selection, and integration tradeoffs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills — you can translate technical progress into business language and keep leadership aligned.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and evaluating third-party AI platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed and comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with voice AI platforms (LiveKit, Sierra, Parloa, Replicant, or similar).
  • Experience with chatbot or conversational AI platforms (Cognigy, Amazon Lex, Google Dialogflow, Kore.ai, Yellow.ai, or similar).
  • Background in fintech, financial services, or debt relief / credit counseling.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures.
  • Formal project management experience or certification (PMP, Agile/Scrum, etc.).
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.

National Debt Relief Role Qualifications

  • Computer competency and ability to work with a computer.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Punctuality expected, ready to report to work on a consistent basis.
  • Attain and maintain high performance expectations on a monthly basis.
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
  • Use and navigate multiple computer systems with exceptional multi-tasking skills.
  • Remain calm and professional during difficult discussions.
  • Take constructive feedback.
  • Available for full-time position, overtime eligible if classified non-exempt.
