Role Description

We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Account Director to join one of our publications teams at Ashfield MedComms. As Account Director, you will serve as the senior client lead, providing strategic oversight and operational leadership across a high-profile medical publications portfolio. You will ensure seamless delivery of congress and journal publications while upholding the highest standards of scientific rigor, compliance, and process excellence.

  • Lead a large, complex medical publications account, ensuring consistent delivery excellence
  • Serve as a strategic partner to clients, building trusted, long-term relationships
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and related publication assets
  • Ensure strict adherence to publications standards, compliance requirements, and timelines
  • Drive rigorous workflow and approval management using iEnvision
  • Provide strong financial oversight, including budgeting, forecasting, and accurate invoicing
  • Anticipate risks, solve problems proactively, and maintain alignment across stakeholders

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (advanced degree preferred)
  • 6+ years of experience in medical communications, with significant expertise in publications strategy, planning, and execution
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing direct reports
  • Proven success in client relationship management, strategic consultation, and account growth
  • Strong project and financial management skills, including budget control, forecasting, and SOW creation
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Proficiency in iEnvision
