As Associate General Counsel – Commercial Litigation, you will join our outstanding legal/risk/regulatory team and serve as a front-line resource for our facility clients facing pre-litigation commercial disputes.
- Legal Counsel: Provide legal advice to facility clients involved in pre-litigation disputes and litigation with vendors, partners, landlords and other third parties.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage and negotiate pre-litigation disputes related to contracts, leases, construction, liens, collection, and other commercial issues for facility clients across the country.
- Litigation Management: Retain and manage external counsel in litigation matters; support external counsel and facility clients with all phases of litigation and resolution; attend deposition, mediation, and trial.
- Subpoenas: Review and prepare responses to third-party subpoenas in matters outside of resident and employment litigation
- Collaboration: Work with facility management and external legal counsel to address and/or mitigate complex commercial disputes and support company initiatives.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential legal risks related to business practices and develop strategies and trainings for facility managers to mitigate those risks.
- Compliance: Help to ensure company policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensing: Active license to practice law and status of good standing in/with the State Bar where licensed
- Experience: Five to ten years’ experience in business litigation, commercial real estate litigation, and related civil litigation; familiarity with wide range of issues in both single plaintiff and class action litigation
- Skills: Strong understanding of commercial litigation processes and best practices; excellent analytical, research, and writing skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues; high level of business understanding, strategies, and knowledge; demonstrated ability to advocate and negotiate resolutions.

- Location: This role is remote for candidates who reside near one of our Service Centers located in San Juan Capistrano, CA, Midvale, UT, Tempe, AZ, Dallas, TX, or San Antonio, TX.
- Compensation: $160,000 to $200,000, DOE. May be eligible for bonus.
- Status: This is a full-time, exempt position.
- Pre-employment criminal background screening required.
