Overview
The Workers’ Compensation Manager provides enterprise-level coordination and oversight of the Workers’ Compensation (WC) program for UTI, Inc., supporting both the UTI and Concorde divisions. This role streamlines standard work processes, promotes consistency, and facilitates the WC claims lifecycle through close partnership with campus leaders, HR Business Partners, and divisional stakeholders. The Manager oversees the WC program by offering subject matter expertise, monitoring program performance, guiding best practices, and ensuring that vendor/carrier partners meet service expectations. This role collaborates with USI (broker), Travelers (carrier), Safety/Facilities, HR Partners, and internal Legal to support compliant claim handling, effective communication, OSHA-related coordination, and employee-centered case management.
Pay Range: $84,000 - $115,000

Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison to USI, Travelers, medical providers, and internal Legal, ensuring coordinated communication and consistent case handling
- Provide oversight and coordination for the WC claims process, including gathering documentation, monitoring medical status updates, supporting wage verification, and aligning on claim strategy with carrier partners
- Maintain and update WC and safety SOPs and best practices, ensuring consistent processes across divisions and providing guidance to HRBPs and campus teams
- Maintain centralized tracking for all active and historical claims
- Partners with legal partners and carrier teams on complex or litigated claims and participate in discussions related to mediation or strategy
- Support accurate and timely submission of claim-related documentation and ensure campuses understand required timelines
- Maintain centralized visibility of OSHA data and partner with campus teams to conduct quarterly audits of OSHA logs to support accuracy and compliance
- Partner with local HRBPs and campus administrators to review and audit incident reports and refusal-of-treatment forms, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with standard processes
- Coordinate Return-to-Work plans; track lost time and modified duty assignments.
- Conduct injury trend analysis, coordinate prevention strategies.
- Maintain HR Safety Page and safety compliance course content.
- Oversee annual Emergency Management Planning (EMP) process and publication.
- Evaluate workers’ compensation and safety training developed by Organizational Development, ensuring content aligns with program needs; provide recommendations for enhancements and partner on content updates
- Support the development and refinement of WC and safety metrics by maintaining centralized reporting and partnering on the creation of dashboards, scorecards, and leadership summaries as data sources and standards evolve

Qualifications
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Social Sciences or related field (required)
- Minimum five (5) years of Workers’ Compensation experience in multi-state operations (required)
- Strong understanding of WC regulations, OSHA standards, and compliance
- Experience communicating with carriers, adjusters, and brokers
- Knowledge base should include higher education, skilled trades, healthcare, or multi-campus operations (preferred)
- Experience with Travelers, USI, or similar carrier/broker (preferred)
- Familiarity with safety programs, OSHA logs, and compliance-related training
- Broad knowledge of facilitating trainings or creating SOPs (preferred)

Work Environment
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.
- This position is designated as Remote. Employees must meet minimum technical standards for eligibility and participation.
- Overnight and/or Local travel required (up to 5%)
