Role Description

Kidde Global Solutions has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Material Productivity & Operation Lead to join our Commercial Fire Engineering Productivity team. This team works alongside other R&D centers to identify, validate and implement Material Productivity projects for all Commercial Fire business units.

The candidate for this role will be responsible for:

  • Building the project pipeline, taking projects from idea to implementation.
  • Mentoring junior team members.
  • Supporting R&D teams with their productivity project efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the successful implementation of projects and programs, often through coordinating with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Utilize technical knowledge, strategic planning, and leadership skills to ensure that projects are seamlessly and expeditiously implemented.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive and deliver material productivity projects within defined scope, quality, time, and cost requirements with a focus on the “final stretch” of project implementation.
  • Lead end-to-end technical program delivery for productivity program initiatives.
  • Develop and manage program schedules, identifying risks, and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on program status regularly to ensure project deliverables are on time and within budget.
  • Own technical program risk management including dependency tracking and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead technical program reviews with senior leadership including progress reporting and escalation.
  • Drive engineering and operations process improvements and technical delivery methodology optimization.
  • Resolve technical and operational problems within the given project scope.
  • Interface with engineering managers and engineers to estimate work efforts, define milestones and manage resources.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up to date on project results.
  • Identify and escalate potential issues or risks that could affect the successful delivery of the project.
  • Ensure adherence to established standards and methodologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience driving material and operations productivity and efficiency initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
  • Proficiency with project management software tools.
  • Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Preferred).
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM), PMFEA and reliability engineering (Preferred).
  • PLM and ERP System Experience (Preferred).
  • Experience in the Fire and Life Safety Industry (Preferred).
