Summary:
The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the organization’s financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic growth initiatives. This role goes beyond traditional accounting tasks, requiring strong critical thinking, the ability to redesign processes, and active participation in system implementations and M&A activities. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in ambiguity, identifies opportunities for improvement, and plays a hands‑on role in building scalable financial infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Drive continuous improvement across accounting workflows by assessing current processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing optimized solutions.
- Serve as a key contributor in ERP enhancements, system upgrades, and new system implementations, including requirements gathering, testing, and user training.
- Support M&A activities, including financial due diligence, integration planning, purchase accounting, and post‑acquisition reconciliation.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights that support decision‑making.
- Manage complex general ledger activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and advanced journal entries.
- Partner cross‑functionally with FP&A, Operations, HR, and IT to ensure alignment and data integrity across systems and processes.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit processes.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to building a high‑performance accounting team.

Skills and Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA‑eligible, preferred.
- Experience with M&A transactions, including due diligence or purchase accounting.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems; comfort with system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Background in public accounting or a mix of public and corporate accounting.
- Exposure to fast‑growing or acquisitive environments where processes and systems evolve rapidly.
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of complex tasks.
- Proven experience improving accounting processes or implementing new workflows. Experience with system implementations (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to break down complex problems and propose practical solutions.
Education and/or Experience:
- BA or BS is required, preferably in Accounting
- 6+ years of direct experience in related field
