Role Description

This senior leadership role focuses on driving mergers, acquisitions, and strategic growth initiatives across North America. The Senior Director, Corporate Development M&A will identify, evaluate, and execute high-impact transactions, guiding projects from target identification through due diligence, negotiation, and post-merger integration. You will partner closely with business and regional teams to align M&A strategy with organizational objectives and lead cross-functional stakeholders through complex deals. The role requires strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and executive-level influence, while providing visibility into high-profile business decisions. This position blends deal-making, advisory, and operational leadership in a fast-moving, global corporate environment. Ideal candidates combine deep M&A experience, leadership capability, and the ability to deliver results in a collaborative matrix setting.

  • Lead the identification and evaluation of acquisition targets aligned with regional business strategy.
  • Conduct financial modeling, valuation, and strategic assessments to support investment decisions.
  • Engage with potential targets, negotiate letters of intent, and manage due diligence processes with internal teams and external advisors.
  • Oversee preparation of investment proposals, presentations, term sheets, and closing documentation for senior management and board review.
  • Coordinate post-merger integration efforts, including operational alignment and performance tracking.
  • Support regional and cross-functional initiatives, occasionally providing advisory support to other corporate development teams.
  • Maintain comprehensive transaction documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate development, strategy, project management, investment banking, or private equity.
  • Proven track record of leading M&A transactions across the full lifecycle, including pipeline development, due diligence, negotiation, and integration.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and negotiation capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders in a matrix environment and work effectively under pressure.
  • Advanced communication skills, including executive presentation and written reporting.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and corporate governance practices.
  • Self-starter with strategic thinking, leadership, and high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • English – advanced level; additional languages a plus.
