Role Description

SmithRx is adding a Pricing Strategy Director to the team who will collaborate closely with our Sales team and Proposals team to craft winning PBM offers, with an emphasis on larger enterprise clients. In addition to the Sales and Proposals team, this person will collaborate closely with our Strategy, Partnerships, Legal, Supply Chain, and Revenue teams and be a critical driver of SmithRx’s growth.

The successful candidate will be commercially-minded and deeply knowledgeable around AWP discount and rebate guarantee pricing as commonly submitted in PBM RFPs run by brokers and pharmacy consultants. Curious, critically-minded, detail-oriented, and eager to win, you are capable of distilling complex technical pricing and contract-related issues into persuasive offers and communicating those offers internally and externally. • Compose offers that large employers understand and find compelling
  • Generate pricing and related answers to be entered into RFP platforms
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to adapt and refine pricing offers to best suit the needs of prospects and enable SmithRx to win
  • Generate client-ready spreadsheets and presentations that impress enterprise-grade clients
  • Demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and to understand how SmithRx’s business model and approach is different from legacy PBMs in the industry
  • Evaluate and assess risks associated with different pricing and RFP response strategies
  • Collaborate with the Legal team to ensure that our pricing strategy is appropriately reflected in our contracting strategy
  • Provide support in legal and contractual negotiations related to pricing and reconciliation terms

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience working with pharmacy benefits RFPs, contracts, AWP discount pricing and rebate guarantees
  • Experience working with historical claims data to assess and manage risk by conducting reprice and trend analyses
  • Experience with leading conversations with employers, brokers and pharmacy benefits consultants regarding pharmacy benefits
  • Highly proficient with Excel
  • Experience leveraging Salesforce, Box, Google Suite, and/or similar technology tools to drive operational efficiencies
  • You have a proven track record of delivering exceptional, quantifiable business impact
  • You have experience in a highly strategic, analytical and operational role in fast-paced environments
  • You are low ego and have a knack for working well with a wide range of people
  • You excel at using data to reach decisions and are comfortable demonstrating these skills to external stakeholders

Benefits

  • Highly competitive wellness benefits including Medical, Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance and AD&D Insurance
  • Flexible Spending Benefits
