The Hospitality Show Director

  • Manages and maintains the event budgets/ forecasting and expenses in line with group strategy and close alignment with operations.
  • Develops project workflow and timelines for each event to ensure cross-functional alignment across critical dates/milestones.
  • Collaborate with the VP Market Leader to develop the business strategy for live events with close attention to delivering clear and measurable value for customers.
  • Leads and manages the tactical implementation of events in collaboration with sales, marketing, event operations, registrations and fulfillment teams.
  • Responsible for the strategic development and implementation of special event features including dynamic activations, new customer experiences, and live and interactive engagements.
  • Develop new opportunities for growth in line with industry needs; and new event features based on market research and trends; including potential new industry segments and markets.
  • Leverages partnerships and client interactions to identify and refer new business development opportunities across the group.
  • Responsible for meeting management and coordinating all pre-show and on-site activities.
  • Leads post-show debriefing and works with team on implementation of key learnings to drive efficiency and profitability for future events.
  • Work with operations on venue selection and management.
  • Maintains close collaboration with content programming team to cultivate relationships with assigned key accounts, speakers and industry thought leaders.

Your Experience and Education include

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 7–10 years trade show management experience; ideally with specific market experience.
  • P/L management experience required. Knowledge and experience in maintaining sound fiscal policy, including development and oversight of budgets, revenue management, cost management and operations management.
  • Highly effective at communicating and collaborating at a business level with senior executives from sponsor/host companies and applying knowledge to the process of developing world-class event experiences.
  • Must be highly organized, self-directed in the achievement of key objectives according to strict schedules, deliverables and timelines.
  • Must be excellent communicator and comfortable speaking in board room and large audience settings, moderating, presenting and hosting meetings.
  • Understands current issues relevant to the related industry event and market.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $130,000, and the role also includes an annual bonus plan.
