Role Description
Position is responsible for monitoring multiple project activities, including inspections of major equipment received onsite, compliance with specifications, procedures, drawings, submittals and ensuring inspections and tests are qualified and complete. Employee must develop a thorough understanding of the project scope and schedule as they relate to multiple specific assignments. Train and mentor craft level employees in their respective duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Location & Travel: Onsite in. This role offers nationwide opportunities based on project needs. In addition to your base salary, you’ll receive a daily per diem to assist with living expenses while on assignment. This role includes regular rotational travel home from the job site. A monthly vehicle allowance and fuel card will be provided.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related degree preferred
- Experience in related construction field is preferred
Requirements
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Oversee daily substation construction activities, inspecting work quality including excavation, concrete, rebar, grounding, steel, wiring, and electrical checks.
- Verify construction aligns with design documents; review inspection reports and resolve non-conformances.
- Maintain key logs: material tracking, testing/inspection, concrete, and non-conformance.
- Manage submittals, ensuring materials match approved specs and project schedules.
- Perform basic surveying and verify line, grade, and dimensions.
- Record and report daily progress, identifying and addressing deficiencies promptly.
- Document approved field changes and maintain red-line drawings.
- Coordinate closely with client quality staff to meet QA/QC standards.
- Compile operations and maintenance manuals with key contacts and warranties.
- Support punch list inspections and determine calibration status of testing equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators on project support and future planning.

- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility.
- Must be a self-starter, hard-working, inquisitive, and be organized and have good interpersonal skills.
- Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, technical procedures and safety rules.
- Write daily reports and document project activities.
- Effectively manage field data to assure activities are conforming to corporate Quality Control procedures. Ensures the effective implementation of the quality control program for assigned project task.
- Calculate figures and amounts and able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
