Responsibilities
- Discovery & Consultation: Partner directly with our various departments to help them translate "wants" into actual technical "needs".
- Data Quality & Extracts: Lead and continue the organization-wide data quality initiative and manage all organizational data extracts.
- Logic Investigation: Act as a detective by utilizing team members and department documentation to understand the application logic behind our data.
- Collaborative Support: Work as a trusted partner with our Data Architect/Engineer to help support and grow the ARCU data warehouse through efficient data modeling.
- Mentorship: Serve as a technical resource and informal mentor for junior analysts.
- Reporting Mastery: Design clean, logical dashboards in the Power BI Service and clear, paginated reports in SSRS that help our team make better daily decisions.
- Process Automation: Proactively identify and implement opportunities to use tools like Python or Power Automate to streamline repetitive workflows and reporting.
- Independent Organization: Manage your own projects within our agile environment, keeping things organized and visible for the team using Jira and Confluence.
Qualifications
- The Detective Mindset: 5+ years of experience working deeply with data, with a natural instinct for spotting discrepancies and a drive to solve the puzzle.
- Advanced SQL Mastery: Expert-level skill in using SQL to extract data, optimize queries, and deconstruct complex stored procedures.
- Clear Communication: The ability to translate technical findings into a simple, helpful story for our non-technical staff and executives.
- Technical Curiosity: A self-starter who enjoys learning from others and is excited to grow into new areas like Data Governance at a steady, sustainable pace.
- Automation & Scripting (Helpful): Experience with Python, Power Automate, or similar tools to help our team work smarter.
- Reporting Tools (Preferred): Familiarity with the Power BI Service, Power BI Report Builder, or SSRS.
- Industry Expertise (Preferred): Experience in a credit union or bank setting, particularly with Jack Henry's ARCU or Symitar systems.
