Role Description

The client is seeking a Senior Microsoft Power BI Consultant to design solutions for our Microsoft data analytics and integration projects. The right candidate is a thought leader, and passionate about the Business Intelligence industry. Location: Remote. Working hours are based between US Central and US Eastern Time Zones, with an expected 6 hours of overlap mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients to deliver data solutions to meet their business needs.
• Develop and design solutions leveraging Power BI and the Power Platform.
• Capture requirements, plan, and autonomously manage projects.
• Build strong working relationships with clients and assist with account management.
• Support sales pursuits and firm-building efforts.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of recent business consulting experience.
• Proven track record of successful Power BI implementations, preferably including embedded solutions.
• Project management experience: full project lifecycle, from design to implementation and support; requirements gathering and scope definition.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and lead technical implementations.
• Understanding of business intelligence concepts and their application in various industries.
• Portfolio demonstrating complex dashboard projects and data model optimizations.
• Background in data-driven decision making and analytics strategy.
• Entrepreneurial minded with grit and forward thinking who can work autonomously.

Requirements

• 5 – 10 years advanced experience with Power BI, including dashboard creation, report development, and data modeling.
• Expertise in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M language for complex calculations and data transformations.
• Strong knowledge of Power Query for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with various database systems.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services, including Data Pipelines and Data Factory.
• Experience with large-scale datasets and data warehousing concepts.
• Proficiency in data visualization techniques and best practices.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms.

Power BI Embedded Specific Skills

• In-depth understanding of Power BI Embedded architecture and implementation.
• Experience with Power BI Embedded API and SDK.
• Knowledge of multi-tenant support in Power BI Embedded solutions.
• Familiarity with Power BI Embedded pricing models and capacity planning.
• Understanding of Power BI Embedded security features and best practices.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
• Relevant Azure or Power Platform certifications.
