About The Role
*This role is remote eligibleIn this role, you will not only lead the development of our Ruby on Rails and Elixir systems but also shape our e-commerce strategies, particularly in the realm of Merchandising tools. Your leadership will guide a team of engineers toward implementing innovative solutions that enhance our operational efficiency for Merchandising workflows and improve the customer experience. This position is well-suited for individuals with a strong background in e-commerce, distributed systems, and an understanding of the complexities of modern Merchandising tools in the online retail space.
What You Get To Do Every Day
You will lead and mentor a team of talented software engineers in designing and implementing high-quality software solutions.
Lead the engineering efforts in our e-commerce platform, focusing on scalability, user experience, and Merchandising tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, ML team, and Merchandising team, to develop and implement effective online Merchandising tools.
Oversee the development and maintenance of our core systems built on Ruby on Rails and Elixir, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
Mentor and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging team members to explore new technologies and practices.
Work cross-functionally with various teams to align engineering activities with broader company objectives.
What You Bring To The Role
Minimum Requirements:
3+ years of managing high-performing engineering teams
Proven track record in managing and scaling distributed, public cloud-native systems and services.
Strong understanding of relational database systems (MySQL or PostgreSQL preferred).
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and inspire a team of engineers.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with e-commerce, merchandising or inventory systems
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases and their application in large-scale environments.
Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
A passion for sustainable fashion and technology’s role in this sector.
