Role Description

The Senior Compensation, Benefits & Leave Advisor will own and operate the full Total Rewards and Leave function for a global workforce of approximately 750 employees. This role is both strategic and hands-on — responsible for compensation design and analysis, benefits strategy and vendor management, leave administration, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

This individual must be comfortable running the function end-to-end, partnering with leadership, negotiating with vendors, and managing complexity related to organizational changes, including entity splits and restructuring.

Responsibilities

  • Compensation
    • Lead the design, administration, and continuous improvement of compensation programs (base pay, incentive plans, bonus structures).
    • Conduct market benchmarking and partner with external compensation data providers to ensure competitive positioning.
    • Manage annual compensation review cycles, including merit and bonus processes.
    • Provide compensation guidance to leadership on leveling, job architecture, and internal equity.
    • Develop reporting and analytics to support executive and Board-level conversations.
  • Benefits
    • Own the strategy, renewal, and administration of all benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, retirement, disability, life, global offerings).
    • Lead benefits negotiations with brokers and carriers to optimize cost and value.
    • Manage relationships with benefits brokers, consultants, and third-party administrators.
    • Oversee open enrollment strategy, communications, and execution.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international benefits regulations.
  • Leave Administration
    • Administer all leave programs including FMLA, state leaves, ADA accommodations, and global leave requirements.
    • Partner with managers and HR Business Partners on leave cases and complex employee situations.
    • Ensure compliance and documentation standards are met.
    • Evaluate and optimize leave processes, including vendor relationships if applicable.
  • Organizational Change & Entity Transitions
    • Lead Total Rewards and leave workstreams during company restructures, entity splits, and integrations.
    • Manage payroll and benefits separation activities in coordination with Finance and external vendors.
    • Ensure seamless employee transitions with minimal disruption to pay and benefits.
  • Vendor & Systems Management
    • Serve as primary point of contact for compensation and benefits vendors.
    • Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and manage renewals.
    • Partner with HRIS and Payroll teams to ensure accurate integration and data integrity.
    • Support implementation or optimization of HRIS and benefits platforms.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits, including leave and workers’ comp administration.
  • Experience managing Total Rewards in a global organization (500+ employees preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating benefits renewals and managing broker relationships.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. leave laws (FMLA, ADA, state programs) and exposure to international leave requirements.
  • Experience supporting or leading compensation and benefits activities during a company split, restructuring, or integration.
  • Advanced analytical skills and strong Excel/reporting capability.
  • Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; CCP, CEBS, or similar certifications preferred or equivalent experience.

Key Competencies

  • Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Executive presence and ability to advise senior leadership.
  • High attention to detail and compliance orientation.
  • Ability to manage sensitive employee matters with discretion.
