This role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and operational management of secure, scalable cloud networking solutions within a FedRAMP High and IL4 compliance environment. The Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer will architect advanced networking on Microsoft Azure, implement Infrastructure-as-Code automation, and monitor cloud systems to ensure high availability, security, and compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to process improvements while staying current with regulatory and industry trends. - Lead the design, deployment, and monitoring of Azure cloud solutions, ensuring compliance with FedRAMP High and IL4 requirements.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, PowerShell, ARM, Bicep, and YAML.
- Implement and configure advanced networking components such as VNets, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, NSGs, ASGs, Azure Firewall, and Application Gateway.
- Translate regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs) into enforceable cloud network guardrails and audit-ready artifacts.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and code review for team members on cloud automation, networking, and security.
- Update documentation, workflows, and knowledge bases for operational excellence.
- Participate in on-call rotations and production support activities as needed.
- Stay informed on Azure, cloud security, and FedRAMP regulatory changes, advising teams on necessary adjustments.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of cloud infrastructure experience, including hands-on work in Azure and other public cloud platforms.
- 2+ years of experience with compliance frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP High, or IL4 in cloud SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS environments.
- Expert knowledge of Azure networking: VNets, vWAN, subnets, routing, peering, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Private Link/Endpoint, NSGs, ASGs, Firewalls, WAFs, Application Gateway.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep templates, CloudFormation, or similar.
- Strong scripting/automation skills: PowerShell, Bash, Python, CLI, YAML.
- Knowledge of configuration management/orchestration tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet, PowerShell DSC.
- Familiarity with container orchestration platforms (AKS, OpenShift, GKS, EKS) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Agile methodology experience with Jira or Azure DevOps Boards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and mentor junior team members.
