Role Description
As a Sr. Brand Manager for North America (US & Canada), you will lead the development and execution of brand strategies that drive growth, build brand equity, and deliver business objectives. This role requires deep consumer empathy, strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence across functions. You will manage the full marketing mix, from insights and innovation to communication and execution at retail.
- Own the development and articulation of clear, consumer-centric brand strategies aligned with corporate priorities.
- Build and manage long-term brand equity, ensuring brand consistency across all touchpoints.
- Lead the annual brand planning process, including strategic priorities, business objectives, and KPIs.
- Translate strategy into actionable marketing plans, including innovation, promotions, media, and retail programs.
- Partner with Insights to identify and translate key trends, behaviors, and unmet needs into opportunities.
- Lead qualitative and quantitative research to develop new products, test ideas, and optimize programs.
- Conduct competitive landscape reviews and category analysis to guide decision-making.
- Own the North American innovation pipeline for assigned brands, from concept development to commercialization.
- Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Finance, and Insights to develop new products that meet consumer needs and deliver financial targets.
- Lead cross-functional stage-gate processes and ensure on-time, on-budget launches.
- Oversee packaging design development, ensuring alignment with brand architecture and shelf appeal.
- Advise Brand Activation ABM in the creation of DCX briefs for eComm assets that align with brand strategy, brand messaging, and brand guidelines while driving sales.
- Provide strategic direction to Brand Activation ABM on creative and media agency briefs for efficient media plans.
- Collaborate with Brand Activation ABM to execute 360° marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and conversion.
- Leverage campaign KPIs to inform broader business decisions for assigned brands.
- Partner with Sales and Trade Marketing teams to develop compelling customer sell-in stories and retail programs.
- Support pricing, promotion, and distribution strategies to maximize volume and profit.
- Ensure excellence in in-store and online retail execution and consistent brand messaging.
- Accountable for delivering a healthy brand P&L: revenue, gross margin, A&P, and contribution margin.
- Develop annual financial plans and forecasts in collaboration with Finance and Sales.
- Track performance vs. plan, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead cross-functional teams with accountability, agility, and collaboration.
- Mentor junior marketers or assistants, fostering their development and building marketing capabilities.
- Champion a consumer-first mindset and serve as a steward of brand excellence.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of brand management experience.
- Experience in brand management within aquatics, pet food, and/or nutrition.
- Experience with a portfolio that has many SKUs, complexity, and/or regulation.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and Lookups.
- Strong financial acumen; able to review P&L and make recommendations.
- Experience with cross-functional communications.
- Strong prioritization skills.

- The position is 100% remote, with working hours from 8:00/8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Ideally, candidates should be located in the Central or Eastern time zone due to meetings with Germany.
- This is a Contract position based out of Earth City, MO.
