This role is best suited for someone comfortable working in a startup-style environment and willing to contribute to special projects as needed. The individual in this role will be given significant ownership over how they approach their work.
Core Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end quality assurance strategy for the HyperSpace platform, ensuring quality standards are defined and consistently applied across development and release cycles.

- Expand and maintain the current automated testing operation using Playwright.
- Own and expand CI/CD automation processes to support rapid feedback loops and reliable software delivery.
- Work directly with Product Management and Software Engineers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria during the design phase to prevent defects before code is written.
- Serve as the primary deployment specialist and oversee the deployment process to ensure releases meet quality standards before being delivered to production.
- Lead root-cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventive measures to reduce recurrence.
- Continuously investigate existing QA and development processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure testing processes support product development timelines and release goals.
- Support improvements in testing automation, deployment workflows, and CI/CD practices.
- Assist engineering and product teams in identifying potential risks related to new features and system changes.
- Provide visibility into testing progress, release readiness, and quality metrics during development cycles.
- Adapt to evolving development priorities in a startup-style environment where teams collaborate across multiple initiatives.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including experience working within modern web application environments.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Lead, Senior, or Principal QA capacity.
- Strong understanding of modern web application architecture, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and single-page applications (SPAs).
- Experience with modern testing frameworks and automated testing practices.
- Understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD methodologies.
- Experience working with containerized environments such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under occasionally tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with software engineers and product teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Playwright or similar automated testing frameworks.
- Experience with scripting languages and automation tools.
- Background in security testing, including familiarity with OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
- Experience supporting blue/green deployment strategies or similar release management approaches.
- Ability to translate technical QA processes into business-level impact and value.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally and support teams operating across multiple time zones.
- Ability to work extended hours when business needs require.
Benefits
- The anticipated minimum hiring range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 per year.
- Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, and location.
- This hire will be eligible for a discretionary bonus or incentive compensation.
- Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
