Job Description

The Development Systems Analyst is responsible for ensuring review and continuous improvement of Development systems, data and tools that support fundraising and constituent relationship management. This role serves as a subject matter expert in core fundraising data to ensure access to the best possible data for all users of the system(s). This role supports and advises internal teams on proper use of data to support cleanliness and accuracy of constituent and fundraising data.
The Development Systems Analyst is a member of the Data and Technology Solutions Team within Global Development’s Philanthropy Effectiveness Team.
The Development Systems Analyst will work closely with the Director of Philanthropy Data and Technology Solutions to enhance constituent/donor data management for the organization, implementing short-term tactical solutions while helping to develop and execute long-term improvement strategies. Additionally, they coordinate with a broad set of internal partners to ensure appropriate data governance, standards, and documentation. They will provide user-centered support around data to the team and the Conservancy’s staff partners that utilize the data for effective fundraising and equip staff with the knowledge around data to maximize their contributions to TNC’s conservation outcomes. They will:
Manage and contribute to the inventory of data quality queries and metrics used to support continuous data improvement and monitoring
Create various data profiles through SQL queries and metrics
Work with partners and create alignment on data definitions and retention periods
Maintain and regularly update the CRM data dictionary, ensuring accurate definitions, field usage guidance, data sources, and relationships are clearly documented and accessible to stakeholders.
Consult, evaluate and make recommendations on data needs/requirements across a broad range of audiences to ensure that potential system enhancements, extensions/add-ons and process changes reflect the cross-functional and cross-organizational impacts and business intent
Respond to assigned tickets in the Philanthropy Operation Support Hub (POSH) which may include troubleshooting data and query questions in accordance with established procedures
Support testing related to data (as needed) for any BB CRM system upgrades/patches
The Analyst must have advanced knowledge (or be capable of quickly gaining advanced level skill) of the systems and resources utilized by the team and Development Operations staff (SSMS and SQL Queries, Power BI, Blackbaud CRM , Microsoft 365 applications, Workday, Asana) to provide programmatic support and coordinate communications related to the resources. They will have substantial contact with stakeholders and may serve as the lead liaison with partners. The Analyst will keep up-to-date on market trends and best practices to improve services. They will adapt processes and implement recommended practices in order to improve effectiveness based on their in-depth understanding of related policies and procedures.

What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience or equivalent combination.
Experience writing moderately complex SQL queries to explore, profile, and analyze relational data across multiple tables.
Experience with relational database management and reporting.
Experience generating reports and interpreting data.
Experience building and maintaining relationships with internal partners
Experience in writing user documentation.
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Salary Information:
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $78,800 - $114,800. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
