Role Description
The Underwriter, Loss Mit I is responsible for the underwriting of loss mitigation options for all workout types on all loan types. Will need to maintain and acquire any licensing requirements.
- Must be in compliance of established timelines and quality decisions for each file assigned.
- Preferred to have underwriting experience.
- Must be familiar with mortgage documents.
- Must be familiar with financial documents.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from a Four (4) year College or University
- One (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
