Role Description

This role supports a leading AI research lab building evaluation benchmarks that test advanced AI systems on real-world legal research tasks.

  • Draft practitioner-level legal research questions arising in corporate transactions, securities regulation, and administrative law
  • Design research scenarios involving compliance and regulatory frameworks
  • Develop issues requiring interpretation of statutory text, agency guidance, and case law
  • Incorporate jurisdiction-specific regulatory analysis
  • Frame questions that require synthesis of statutes, regulations, precedent, and legislative history
  • Ensure research tasks resemble real client matters rather than academic hypotheticals

Qualifications

  • 4–7+ years of law firm experience in transactional or regulatory practice
  • Strong background in statutory interpretation and regulatory analysis
  • Experience researching federal and/or state regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to clearly define and scope complex legal research questions
  • Excellent legal writing and analytical reasoning skills

Requirements

  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies
  • Background in highly regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or energy
  • Exposure to legal technology or AI-related initiatives
