Role Description
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, monitoring, and leadership of assigned projects, which may vary in scope, value, complexity, and subject matter. The Project Manager ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and deliver intended value to the organization.
- Support Zoetis Reference Labs colleagues in managing projects and utilizing standardized project methodologies approved by the PMO.
- Lead and manage multiple, concurrent projects from initiation through delivery, including laboratory expansion, new test or instrument implementation, operational improvements, and system upgrades.
- Develop comprehensive project plans and define scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budgets. Track and report project status to stakeholders and leadership.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (lab operations, IT, QA, medical/scientific directors, client services, supply chain).
- Facilitate project meetings, manage agendas, document actions and decisions, and follow up to ensure accountability.
- Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies; develop and implement mitigation plans.
- Oversee change management, including stakeholder communication, documentation, training, and adoption.
- Liaise with vendors and external partners for project-related deliverables.
- Monitor project KPIs and conduct post-implementation reviews to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure project quality, compliance, and alignment with organizational standards and goals. Aid teams in removing roadblocks and finding solutions.
- Perform other projects and work as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science, healthcare, business, or a related field (master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in laboratory, life sciences, or healthcare settings.
- PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certification highly desirable.
- Demonstrated track record managing complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Knowledge of laboratory workflows, LIS/LIMS, instrumentation, and regulatory environments preferred.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana).
