Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Epic Application Analyst Level 3 with strong expertise in HL7 integrations and healthcare interoperability standards to support the exchange of clinical and operational data across healthcare systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with technical teams, clinicians, and operational stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain reliable healthcare system integrations.

  • Design, develop, and maintain healthcare system integrations using HL7 and interoperability standards.
  • Analyze workflows, map data elements, and define interface requirements across systems.
  • Work with InterSystems IRIS for Health to manage and support system integrations.
  • Support EHR integrations and assist in EHR-to-Epic conversion initiatives.
  • Gather and analyze business and clinical requirements from stakeholders.
  • Translate user needs into technical specifications, data models, and workflow diagrams.
  • Document functional requirements, technical designs, test plans, release notes, and user documentation.
  • Identify risks, constraints, and potential issues during requirements gathering.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, clinicians, and IT leadership to deliver integration solutions.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and workgroups to gather requirements and validate solutions.
  • Ensure alignment between business needs and system capabilities.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and deployment activities.
  • Support application troubleshooting and resolution of system defects.
  • Monitor integrations and ensure compliance with organizational standards and healthcare regulations.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Junior Clinical Business Analysts and Level I/II Analysts.
  • Review deliverables and ensure adherence to documentation and quality standards.
  • Lead training initiatives and promote process improvements across projects and applications.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize workflows and system performance.
  • Recommend improvements for integration processes and Epic system functionality.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Epic EMR or other clinical applications.
  • Expertise in HL7 messaging and healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Experience with InterSystems IRIS for Health.
  • Knowledge of healthcare workflows across EHR, Laboratory, and Ambulatory systems.
  • Ability to analyze and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with clinical data integrations and healthcare system interfaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic Bridges Certification.
  • Prior experience with EHR-to-Epic conversion projects.
  • Experience supporting multiple Epic modules.
  • Clinical background or experience working closely with clinical teams.
  • Participation in at least two full lifecycle Epic implementations.

Education Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, Analytics, or related field with 2 years of relevant experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 5 years of relevant experience, OR
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.

Certifications

  • Preferred certifications include Epic Certification (Bridges preferred).
  • Other relevant healthcare IT or interoperability certifications.
