Role Description
Aptive is seeking a Social Media Specialist to support a public health education campaign. The Social Media Specialist will support the development and execution of social media outreach that promotes and encourages residents and community partners to utilize targeted resources during mental health or substance use crises.
- Lead development and execution of the project’s social media strategy to support a public health awareness campaign.
- Develop, write, and manage social media content that promotes behavioral health awareness and crisis resources.
- Collaborate with creative and media teams to inform development of social media graphics, videos, and other digital campaign assets.
- Manage the social media content calendar and day-to-day platform activity.
- Conduct social listening and analyze social media performance metrics.
- Support amplification of campaign messaging through partner organizations and community stakeholders.
- Support additional digital communications, research, reporting, and campaign coordination activities as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public health, journalism, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience supporting social media management or digital communications campaigns.
- Experience drafting and publishing content for major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube).
- Experience supporting social media campaigns as part of broader marketing, communications, or public education initiatives.
- Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar platforms.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear, plain language.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

- Experience coordinating social media messaging with community partners or stakeholders.
- Knowledge of digital engagement strategies for diverse audiences.
