Job Description
• Process vendor invoices with high accuracy, ensuring all proper approvals are secured.
• Identify and suggest process improvements for the accounts payable workflow to increase speed and reduce errors.
• Collaborate with approvers to resolve bottlenecks and ensure timely payments.
• Manage payroll for all Brightline employees (full-time, part-time, hourly, and salaried).
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to management and employees on payroll queries.
• Investigate and resolve moderately complex payroll variances or discrepancies using independent judgment.
• Conduct general ledger reconciliation tasks as part of routine accounting activities.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies of moderate scope to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Participate in month-end close tasks and assist in complex projects, including financial and workers’ compensation audits.
• Partner closely with People Operations and external vendors to resolve mutual problems and streamline cross-functional personnel matters.
• Work proactively with employees to address missing receipts or expense discrepancies, fostering a culture of financial accountability.
Job Requirements
- 1–3 years of accounting and payroll experience, with a proven track record of managing a routine workload with little daily instruction.
- The ability to modify existing methods and processes to solve problems and improve workflows.
- Strong judgment and the ability to navigate "moderate scope" problems independently.
- Knowledge of accounting and payroll systems/tools and proficiency in Excel.
- A thorough understanding of employee confidentiality.
- Collaborative communication skills, with a focus on building relationships to resolve shared challenges across the organization.
- Strong time management skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines with minimal oversight.
