Job Overview
Impact Advisors is seeking a Founding Cybersecurity Architect to help design and build the foundation of our next-generation healthcare security platform. This is a unique opportunity to serve as a foundational technical leader, responsible for architecting and implementing a scalable, AI-enabled cybersecurity capability that supports healthcare organizations in managing operational risk and protecting critical systems.
This role combines security architecture, systems engineering, and applied AI, and is ideal for a hands-on architect who thrives in building production-ready solutions in complex, regulated environments. The Cybersecurity Architect will work closely with cyber, engineering, and consulting leaders to define the technical blueprint, develop the initial platform capabilities, and establish scalable patterns for long-term growth.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build the initial MVP of Impact Advisors’ healthcare security platform, applying advanced reasoning capabilities to real security telemetry
- Own end-to-end system architecture and implementation, from design through deployment and iteration
- Design and implement workflows that observe, correlate, recommend, and escalate security signals and risks
- Develop secure human-in-the-loop processes appropriate for regulated healthcare environments
- Produce clear, defensible technical outputs for both engineering teams and executive stakeholders
- Establish scalable architectural patterns and engineering standards to support platform evolution
- Perform threat modeling and security design for high-impact healthcare systems and hybrid environments
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to align platform capabilities with real-world healthcare security needs
Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years of experience in security engineering, cybersecurity architecture, incident response, or related roles
- Hands-on experience responding to real-world security incidents and adversary activity
- Experience designing identity centric or Zero Trust security architectures
- Strong understanding of cloud, hybrid infrastructure, identity, and privilege management
- Experience designing and building complex production systems end-to-end
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior technical and executive audiences
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, or EHR integrations
Preferred
- Experience building foundational or early-stage platforms (0→1 engineering experience)
- Experience with security telemetry, data engineering pipelines, or observability platforms
- Experience designing or implementing AI-driven, agentic, or LLM-enabled systems
- Understanding of AI safety considerations, failure modes, and governance controls
For salaried positions, this role may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus. Additional benefits and perks may also be available, depending on the position and employment terms. This range reflects consideration of several factors, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
