Role Description

The Commercial Manager has the responsibility for establishing the region’s pricing and pricing strategy. The position manages terms and conditions and works closely with sales, customer service, operations management, legal, and others as needed to prepare quotations, manage NDAs, LTAs, and other contracts that are accurate, professional, and meet customer expectations.

  • Prepare ALL quotations for the region’s plant and Greenfield opportunities.
  • Prepare quotations using a disciplined mathematical model.
  • Official keeper of target hourly rates for all furnaces in the region.
  • Perform specification review and best practice processes in developing proposals.
  • Conduct appropriate research to develop capital budget and support ECAR request for proposals requiring capital investment.
  • Hold technical reviews with key suppliers as needed.
  • Complete customer supplied costing spreadsheets.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal departments such as quality, customer service, order entry, billing, and accounts receivables to resolve issues.
  • Prepare and present meaningful metrics to operations management on a regular basis.
  • Promote and practice teamwork with other plants and corporate staff.
  • Work in a manner consistent with the EMS.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
  • May have access to compensation information of other employees or applicants in this role and cannot disclose the pay of other employees or applicants to other individuals.

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with advanced training in operations, finance, and metallurgy.
  • Thorough knowledge of heat treat processes and equipment.
  • A minimum of five years hands-on experience with various types of heat treatments.
  • Experience with online-based systems like Lotus Notes, Sales Force.com, and Excel spreadsheets required.
  • Strong metallurgical knowledge and capability of interpreting blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication for interfacing with top management levels, shop supervision, and customers.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
  • Cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.
